Our Services
We do things differently
-
Boutique Aged Care Home
We offer shared homes for up to 6 people. We welcome couples. This model has been tried and tested in Europe for decades. We are proud to be the first boutique aged care home in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
-
Respite or Permanent
We warmly welcome residents whether they need a short-term respite stay or a permanent home. Our approach is unique; we are not bound by set timeframes. Unlike traditional nursing homes, we work directly with you to understand and arrange the most comfortable and desirable length of stay.
-
24/7 Care
Around-the-clock support, ensures a safe, secure and comfortable level of independence. We work closely with residents and family members, medical and allied health professionals to help design and deliver a support service that is based on the needs of you or your family member.
-
Happy Team
Our staff retention rate is consistently above 85% which is significantly higher than the industry average of 30%. While other aged care providers see most staff leave within a year, the majority of our team stays. This creates a stable environment where it is easier to notice small changes with residents and respond accordingly.
-
Low to High Care
We provide low to high level of care including wound management, behaviour support, palliative care, dementia care, medication management, lifestyle choices and nutrition.
We also specialise in end-of-life care. We provide a supportive environment that honours every individual's wishes while offering guidance to their loved ones.
-
Activities in and out of the home
We prioritise offering activities within and outside of the home. We also proud ourselves on offering activities that residents value. It is very difficult for large nursing homes to offer individual activity programs. We are able to go to coffee at a local cafe with one resident or take everyone to the local show. We also cherish the quiet moments around the home like reading the paper in the sun.
What will I do today?
How does your normal day look? Waking up, sitting at the dining table in your pyjamas reading the paper? Maybe waking up and enjoying a cup of tea in bed reading a book? A beach walk before breakfast?
Your days at Honey Bee Homes are what you want. Movies, gardening, cafes, walks, Tai Chi classes, attending a local event, or visiting galleries or libraries.

The name comes from our respect for the amazing honey bee colony.
These social creatures are admired for their seamless teamwork. Honey bees complete many jobs over their lifetime, such as nursemaid, caretaker and cleaner. Additionally, if a task needs to be completed, any available bee will jump on it, contributing to an efficient and harmonious society.
Moreover, honey bees provide a model for a caring, compassionate community that thrives on attentiveness, communication and hard work. When we work together, we can also create a dynamic and peaceful community.
